How to SSH Into an iDevice

 

  1. 1) Open Cydia.

  2. 2) Tap Search

  3. 3) Type “openssh”.

  4. 4) Tap OpenSSH.

  5. 5) Tap Install.

  6. 6) Tap Confirm.

  7. 7) Tap Return to Cydia.

  8. 8) Tap the home button.

  9. 9) Turn on your computer.

  10. 10) Login on your computer.

  11. 11) On your iDevice, go to Settings.

  12. 12) Go to Wi-Fi.

  13. 13) Tap your network’s

For Macintosh:

15) Open Terminal.

16) Type ssh root@<IP Address Goes Here>.

Replace <IP Address Goes Here> with your IP Address.  Your IP Address is found in the IP Address field on your iDevice.

17) Type your iDevice’s password (your iDevice’s password will not show up in Terminal).

For Windows:

15) Download PuTTY.

16) Open PuTTY.

17) Type your iDevice’s IP Address in the Host Name [or IP Address] field.

  1. 18)Click Open.

  2. 19)Type root.

  3. 20)Hit Return.

  4. 21)Type your iDevice’s password (your iDevice’s password will not show up in PuTTY).
